3 Health Tips/Holiday Special/Delicious Cranberry Sauce Recipe!

12/14/2017

Greetings my friends!

I hope this message finds you doing fantastically well and happy! The Holiday's are upon us and things can get a bit busy and that's why it's super important to make sure you are fueling yourself with best possible nutrient dense food to keep yourself healthy and strong! I'll touch on just 3 things that can help you with this.

#1 Sleep

Do not under rate the amount of sleep you get.  The golden hours are between 10pm and 2am.  Do your best to shift your sleep schedule to include these hours and you will see a tremendous difference in your health and happiness. Our hormones balance during these hours and proper sleeping habits allow the body to maintain a healthy immune system and for proper healing and restoration to occur.

#2  Hydration

Hydration is especially important during the colder months.  When the weather gets cold it's easier to forget to drink enough water as most people gravitate towards warmer foods, soups and teas as well as being less active.  Be very mindful of how much water you are actually drinking everyday and this includes fresh juices.  Our body wants liquid rich foods so keep on eating that nourishing fruit like Oranges, Pineapples, Grapes and all those greens like Romaine Lettuce and Kale.  Just one fresh juice a day can really help too!  And do remember you can include some delicious coconut water which will provide your body with much needed minerals and electrolytes to fuel your cells.

#3  Nourishment

When you think of eating consider asking yourself if this food you've chosen will regenerate your health and body or cause degeneration.  Eat for nourishment.  This does not mean taste has to be compromised.  It just means a different way of preparing food must be learned.  The food I eat is absolutely delicious and super nutritious. For some ideas and free recipes just look around here on my website and  on my YouTube Channel in which you can find me on as Rosie Montoya. Celery to transform your health & life!

Celery Juice alone has many amazing health benefits. Some do not prefer the taste of celery juice alone, but maybe after seeing the benefits I list here will consider it. If a person still just can't seem to drink it alone then I say go ahead and add an apple and a lemon to it (see delicious recipe below) at first to begin, which is better than not drinking it at all.  Making steps in the right direction is what counts and eventually you may like pure celery juice only, but if not then continue with the Celery, Apple, Lemon mix which will give you tremendous healing health benefits as well. Celery juiced alone is very healing and gentle on the digestive system. Its enzymatic alkaline nature and richness in electrolytes help to heal the digestive system and intestines.  I believe all disease and imbalance begins in the colon, therefore it is of imperative priority to ensure and do everything possible to heal the digestive and elimination system and keep it running smoothly.  This is the foundation for a healthy body, a strong immune system and for beautiful radiant skin. Celery contains Potassium, Calcium, Vitamin A, C, K, B-6, B-2, Molybdenum, Manganese, Pantothenic Acid, Copper, Phosphorus, Magnesium, Folate and Fiber.  Celery also contains a powerful phytochemcial called Coumarin which can help to reduce hypertension and may even naturally boost certain white blood cells! So already you can see how extremely beneficial Celery is, but wait there is more!  It also contains anti-inflammatory properties! Just think of all the autoimmune conditions that it can help! And it can help tremendously with sleep/relaxation by balancing and lowering stress hormones, reducing/eliminating hot flashes, edema, skin problems and aiding in muscle cramps with the magnesium it possesses. Celery’s nutrients can also help reduce headaches/dizziness and prevent kidney stones. Our bodies are bombarded with toxins everyday from our environment and food.  It is imperative to nourish and feed our bodies daily with foods that will flush these toxins out of our systems.  Celery with its rich organic sodium content is just that food! It has a strong ability to allow our bodies to get rid of toxins by flushing them out of our systems daily. With Celery’s richness in Flavonoids and Anti-Oxidants it can protect our cells from oxidative damage as well as protecting the body’s blood vessels and vital organs. This is why I recommend drinking pure Celery Juice each morning; in fact this is part of my healing protocol I recommend to my health clients. Start your day off with 12-16 ounces of pure fresh organic celery juice and feel your health transform. If you do not own a juicer you can also blend up your celery with a little bit of water and then pour through a straining bag/cheesecloth bag.  Squeeze all the life giving juice out of bag into a bowl and you will see all the fiber left in the bad.  Pour your juice into a nice glass jar/cup and enjoy!  When we juice we are bypassing the energy consuming process of digestion and all of the vegetables nutrients and enzymes are transformed into liquid form which allows these nutrients to become immediately usable by the bodies trillions of cells. Now that’s powerful. There are benefits to juicing and blending.  It’s nice to take a break from digestion (fiber) which allows the body to utilize its energy elsewhere like healing and regenerating.  When juicing the body doesn’t have to work hard to extract the nutrients from the food (fruits and veggies) to utilize it.  If during an only juice feast/cleanse you experience any kind of natural sugar rush that you don’t like you can simple add coconut water and/or a superfood powder mix and/or a scoop of raw vegan protein powder to your juice.  All these will slow down the release of natural sugars into your body.

Below is a delicious recipe I'd like to share with you that includes Celery, Apple and Lemon! Very healing and delicious! Also below is a video on juicing celery that I made.  I hope you enjoy it, click like and leave a positive comment for me to read!  Have a beautiful green day!
Healing Celery, Apple Lemon Juice Recipe!

Recipe:  4 Organic Apples of your choice. I get whatever is Organic and a good price! For my recipe here I used Gala.  2 Organic Lemons with the peel on and 1 entire stalk of Organic Celery.  This made approximately 46 ounces.  I have a slow single auger type juicer which keeps the integrity of the juice fresh for days and the enzyme life force and freshness at its best!  I pour the extra into my glass bottles and put into the refrigerator to enjoy later or for the next day.  If I’m on the go I simply put a few ice packs into my lunch bag and pack them up!

The Wondrous Watermelon & Super Strength

8/2/2017

Each year I do a Watermelon Hydration Feast!  This means I only eat watermelon for several days.  You may have heard of this referred to as Watermelon Island. This allows my body to completely rest from food and hard digestion.  I’ve done anywhere from 3 days up to 8 days and know others who have gone much longer. Watermelon is predigested so it is very gentle on the digestive system but delivers valuable nutrients to the cells at the same time.  Something that really intrigues me is the amount of super strength I feel during this time.  I’ve noticed when I only consume Watermelon I get super strength!  This really intrigued me and lead me to research the Wondrous Watermelon powers further.  It’s simply amazing how much stronger my muscles are during this time!  I can lift heavier weights easily, fly through my cardio and hold my Yoga and Pilate poses longer with great ease!  My complexion becomes very clear and my skin gets a very healthy glow and looks radiantly younger.  My energy increases and sleep is more restorative and I can go further on less of it.  Amazing!  Now let’s get into the nutrient profile of watermelon and the benefits on the body.

Let’s look into why Watermelon can make a person feel super strong.  Watermelon contains an amino acid called Citrulline (Citrulline Malate) that converts into the amino acid L-Arginine which has the potential to boost the amount of weight the muscles can handle and seems to lengthen their fatigue time.  I have experienced this first hand! These amino acids promote healthy blood flow, circulation and may help with riding the body of excess fat.  L-Arginine is a substrate for production of Nitric Oxide as a catalyst for other metabolic reactions including its effects on insulin, various hormones and creatine synthesis.  It is a cell signaling molecule that has a part in regulating blood flow, oxygen delivery, glucose uptake, muscle power and muscle growth.  So, you can see why it is so beneficial in aiding to attain optimum health and performance. The Choline in watermelon helps with keeping inflammation at a low level and the Lycopene is an inhibitor for various inflammatory processes and acts as an anti-oxidant to neutralize free radicals.  And all that fiber and Vitamin A is excellent for the digestive tract and to bring about a beautiful complexion in the skin.  Just think of all that hydration you get from watermelon being that it is 92% water! The entire Watermelon including the seeds contains Beta-Carotene, B-6, Vit. C, Calcium, Iron, Protein, Potassium, copper, selenium, zinc, magnesium, manganese, sodium, folate, iron, monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats.  And in only 2 cups it packs 15 to 20 mg of the Phytonutrient Lycopene which can help protect cells from damage.  And it is ok to eat the seeds! I remember when I was very young others in my family telling me that if I ate a Watermelon seed a Watermelon would grow in my tummy!  I didn’t really believe them but they planted that idea in my mind and I think I avoided the seeds because of this.  Can anybody else relate?  Well, it is not true.  The seeds are actually really nutritious for us to consume.  I like to juice them along with the flesh and rind sometimes.  It is also good to sprout them so they are easier to digest and enjoy the seeds this way.  The seeds and the seed oil contain Linoleic Acid which is very beneficial for supporting beautiful skin and hair.  I could go and on but I think you can see how extremely healthy watermelon is for the body.  God created natural real foods to provide our bodies with all the nutrients and life force they will ever need and the vitamins, minerals, proteins, fats etc. are in just the perfect proportions to nourish our bodies completely.

Plentiful Pineapples

Who loves Pineapples? I do! They are deliciously juicy and oh so healthy for the body! Historians believe that Pineapples originated in Brazil in South America.  Did you know Christopher Columbus is credited for discovering the Pineapple on the Caribbean Island of Guadalupe? He is.  In fact it is said that he brought back other fruits along too!  When Columbus first introduced them to Europe they became very sought after and popular.  They were treated like expensive ornaments and became a celebrity fruit.  So, when was the Plentiful Pineapple introduced to Hawaii?  Well, it is believed that the Spanish introduced them there in 1527.  And in 1899, James Dole arrived in Hawaii and started a Pineapple plantation a year later in Wahiawa.  In Hawaii, the word for Pineapple is “Hala Kahiki”.  Now enough about the Pineapple’s history let’s move on to the amazing health promoting benefits of this elegant delicious fruit!

Pineapples help beautify the skin, reduce inflammation in the body, help build a strong immune system and promote systemic healing! This is huge! Systemic healing! If you or anyone you know is suffering from a compromised immune system or fighting a challenging disease you might want to up your fresh Organic Pineapple intake and seriously consider taking systemic enzymes for sure. Pineapples are high in a proteolytic enzyme (an enzyme that digests/breaks down protein) named Bromelain, which is found in the center harder stem of the pineapple.  Enzymes help with digestion and for this reason it is very beneficial to have some fresh pineapple after a meal.  I would say even a little freshly juiced Pineapple sipped during the meal (especially if it is a cooked meal)!  This health promoting enzyme, Bromelain is the most prevalent in the hard core and can be a bit hard to chew and break down so I recommend juicing it!  Bromelain has been used to treat indigestion and reduce inflammation for centuries.  I love to include Pineapples into my diet as much as possible because of the enzymatic activity and sweet satisfying taste.  In addition I like to take a very high quality enzyme daily.  More on enzymes and the results of my research on finding the highest quality ones for digestion and systemic healing in my next blog!  I’ve been researching enzymes since 1997 and have a lot to share!

In the meantime I thought I would share one of my favorite recipes from my Seven Day Juice & Meal Plan book with you! It is a delicious Pineapple Smoothie Drink! Just scroll down to see it!  Maybe you’ll make it and share some with your friends or family!  If so, let me know how much you liked it!  Now stay healthy and keep moving forward in the direction that brings you the most peace and happiness.

Love & Blessings,
Rosie
